The gift that keeps on giving
So you are going to visit the queen of England on a diplomatic mission and it’s customary to bring her a gift. What kind of gift do you give? A good start might be something that represents your land. Maybe something that is cultural or maybe a historic artifact that they can placed in a museum. This is the situation our new president found himself in.
So what kind of gift did Obama give the queen? An iPod. You might raise an eyebrow, but I guess I can see the logic in this. You want to portray your nation as innovative, technological, and trendy. Or maybe you want to say how Okay. So what does he put on the iPod? What else? Audio of his own “landmark” speeches and photos of his inauguration.
