• The New American Tea Party

A new movement, inspired by the words of Rick Santelli, has gained traction and protest events are now being planned across the United States. This movement is “a coalition of citizens and organizations concerned about the recent trend of fiscal recklessness in government”. The first tea party protest is being planned for Washington DC (see the image below) with more events being planned for other cities. The web site has some of the other cities listed and I currently know of others cities (such as Orlando) that have “tea parties” in the planning stage.

If you are concerned about the massive irresponsible government spending and the future impact it will have on you and future generations, I encourage you to attend and forward this on to your friends and family. It’s time to band together and support causes like this.

I just received an email with this link in it:
      http://www.newmediajournal.us/staff/p_williams/2009/02072009.htm
which speaks also of other pressures on the future generations in addition to the money/debt issue.

With a president who is spending a lot in one breath, then saying he wants little government in his next breath, I get confused.

When journalists ask if we the people should be saving our money or spending, he skirts the answer and indirectly says to keep spending because it stimulates.

I think we should all just stop for a second and save. There is a huge vacuum of debt. We have to fill it. To do that, for a period, we must save. Pay back what we owe. Then we can step off and spend again.
I don’t know, I think that is just common sense.
That keeps things stable. It balances things.
If it takes 10 years, well suck it up. Pay it back.

Our behaviors in the smallest things affect others. Every transaction, every thought, every dealing affects our communities and our country and each other. A person in denial of this fact is a complete fool.
