Porkzilla passes and we head down a dark path
The largest spending bill in history passed the Senate today despite the warnings of many economists. I have said this before and I will say it again, this is a sad time for our country and anyone who enjoys freedom and the free market. Our nation is taking a giant leap towards more government control and ultimately social communism. What’s really concerning is that nobody is asking the really important question: Where are we going to get the money to pay for this?
Few people seem to care where this money is going to come from and how we are going to pay it back. It’s irresponsible spending that got us into this mess in the first place. So the government is telling us that the solution is more irresponsible spending? Oh, but this time the irresponsible spending is on the part of the government. That is suppose to be better? Obama is putting the hard sale on this stimulus plan, but he says nothing about how we are going to pay the bill and how the cost burden will effect the country’s future. Any why should he? As long as the bill doesn’t arrive before his re-election bid in 2012, why should he care? Reckless spending to pay the bill of reckless spending… mark my words, the day will come when it’s time to pay the piper.
So why does so few people seem to care? After all, this is the most impacting and potentially disastrous bill to ever be passed. Maybe it’s because they take every word of their superstar president as gold. Foolish move since even the mainstream media are saying that he is being misleading in his words. Maybe it’s because people are unemployed and are desperate for the government to do anything to help. I’m sure that is the case for some. However, it is a scary prospect to put faith in government for salvation. I think the real reason why nobody seems to care is because they are too distracted by Octomom, ARod, and the new season of American Idol.
Looks like Wall Street senses the storm on the horizon. The DOW dropped 381 points today.
