A local paper gets it right…
Finally, another human being who has not “drank the kool-aid” when it comes to the whole “global warming” debate. I think there really are more people who don’t agree with the theory, but they don’t feel they can speak up due to being “smacked down” by the MANY that has been brain-washed by the media and Al Gore (this is a very similar scenario to the conservative vs. liberal opinion in this country in that many conservatives get “jumped” on by liberals when they try to speak up). I applaud Mike Thomas for not buying into the whole “man did this!” accusation that is driving a whole industry it seems in consumer pressure. This whole global warming argument is another form of celebrity worship combined with media trying to alter our perception instead of really giving us the simple truth. Hype Hype Hype!!!!
My biggest problem with this thing? It’s not based on all the scientific data there is. Large amounts of data are literally being ignored………yes ignored! How do you ignore actual data that tells a different story than what you want? You get the media and government on your side and then shove it down everyone’s throat (stimulus package anyone?) whether it’s true or not. I think it’s great that people are passionate about issues, heck we all are. But you must be educated about your passion and not just take someone’s word for it who is not even qualified (Al Gore). For as many scientists that are out there saying there is global warming, there are just as many who say there is not and have the data to back it up. Yes, you can skew data to show what you want to show I know, but historical data does not lie. If there’s one thing that is very clear about this rock that we live on is that there are natural cycles that are always in play and involve the moon and the sun. There are 1,000 and million year cycles that some scientists are not even taking into consideration with this.
Did last week have anyone questioning global warming?
Think how people in Chicago feel. They’re going through the coldest winter in a quarter-century, and the ninth-coldest of all time.
Of course, none of this contradicts the theory that we are turning Planet Earth into a convection oven.
It goes something like this: If the planet is warm, it is because of global warming. If the planet is cold, it is in spite of global warming.
