• In America, Presidents Don’t “Rule”

Let’s first start off with a final note on the Change.gov site. Someone needs to inform Mr. Obama and his supporters that there is no such thing as “The Office of the President-Elect”. I have no problem with him creating the title if it makes him feel good about himself. I might find it arrogant, but I would raise no objection. However, using the official “.gov” suffix, that an ordinary citizen can not register, seems to denote something official to the title. Please take note that there is no official office of the president-elect in the United States. It is this misleading of the public that I take objection to.

This quote is rather funny and scary all at the same time:

“However, giving–given, really, the daunting challenges that we face, it’s important that President-elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one. So we will be working closely with his [Bush's] administration.” – Valerie Jarrett – Co-Chair of the Obama Transition Team

In the America I grew up in, we didn’t have rulers. The president led us, but didn’t rule over us. I guess we’re starting to see what the “change” is all about.

Perhaps we should just change his title to “King” obama or “Führer”…
